More Enticed

  1. Crisis Communication Scenario?

I don’t know what to include or what theories to use… ugh.

  2. Think like a Man.

So I’m obsessed with a new song “Think like a man” by Jennifer Hudson, Neyo & Rick Ross…. same title as a new book and upcoming film.

Jen belts the chorus “In love! In love! In love; You gotta act like, a woman, but think like, a man.”

I think the same definitely applies for business. Do you ever question why top positions in big business’s are rarely women? yet most of the team will be women… that’s PR right now.

  3. Using social media to reach consumers.

The modern way for brands to reach consumers these days is of course through social media. You have to go where the people are right?

They are at their computer screens and highly likely to be on facebook, twitter etc.

Brands have obviously picked up on this in the last few years and have all jumped on the bandwagon.

And it’s not just for small brands, some of the most popular brands have a facebook page.

    E.g. Nike Facebook

The following picture shows how the use has developed over the years:

Youtube is also a great way brands choose to get through to their customers.

Just 2 years ago Old Spice launched this video as campaign… It went viral, it was everywhere, I could remember watching the views go up each time i watched it… in the millions in just a week! Now it’s almost hit 40 million viewers…
Consumers like visuals and interesting things… videos can do that… thus making youtube a great social media tool.

  4. In this age of microblogging and two-second sound bites, almost no one has the attention span, or time, to read more than a few sentences.

JLPR Muse & News: Can we please stop asking, 'What is PR?'  →

    jlpr:

I started my career as a public relations professional 30 years ago. Since then my career has morphed into new areas like sales, marketing, business development, consulting and teaching, but there is a piece of my heart that will always belong to PR.

I’m disheartened that people today still ask…
